It is amazing how we all desire beautiful things in life success, good health, loving relationships, genuine friendships, peace, and purpose. And perhaps, that is part of God’s plan for us.
But somewhere along the way, we sometimes forget that beautiful things often require something from us too.
Let’s talk about relationships for a moment, because deep down, we all want to be loved, understood, and valued right? If I asked you what kind of partner or close friend you desire, you would probably already know the answer.
Most people would say: someone who loves God, someone kind, hardworking, loyal, wise, soft-hearted, disciplined… the list goes on.
But let’s be honest with ourselves for a second.
Are we becoming those kinds of people too?
Do we obey God? Do we work hard even when we feel unmotivated? Do we treat people with kindness not only the people we love, but even strangers? Do we choose patience, honesty, and humility in our daily lives?
Deep down, we know the answer.
Sometimes we want beautiful things while avoiding the process that shapes us into people who can truly carry them well.
And honestly, one of the best ways to receive the kind of life we desire is to first become the kind of person who reflects those same qualities. Sometimes that even means sacrificing comfort, bad habits, pride, distractions, or temporary pleasures.
God also wants us to become better, but how do we do that?
Everyone may have different opinions, but personally, I believe it starts with becoming a living sacrifice, just as Romans 12:1 teaches us.
And being a living sacrifice may look difficult but it's one step at a time...
It is choosing to wake up and work even when you feel like sleeping, choosing kindness even when others are unkind to you, choosing discipline over distraction,
choosing to work on your goals when you feel unmotivated, choosing your Bible or your studies over endless scrolling.
And while doing all of this, we should do it to honor God not to impress people.
Not to prove that we are disciplined.
Not to appear perfect.
Not to seek validation from the world.
But simply to please God and walk in His ways.
Being a living sacrifice means choosing God’s way even when it is uncomfortable, unnoticed, or difficult.
Dear friend, I pray that God transforms us.
May He teach us better and wiser ways to live.
May He reveal to us what we are truly supposed to do.
May He give us tender and teachable hearts,
and may He help us become people whose lives genuinely honor Him.

This touched my soul deeply. As we strive in every area of our lives, may we keep the truth of Romans 14:23 in our hearts: ‘Whatever is not from faith is sin.’ May our prayers, decisions, dreams, relationships and daily walk be rooted in unwavering faith in Christ, trusting Him completely and allowing His will to guide every step we take.
